Position : Arena Technical Manager(10~12년 이상)
Position Summary
The Arena Technical Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, planning, and execution of all technical operations across INSPIRE Arena and related resort venues.
This position oversees the Stage, Lighting, Audio, Automation, Video, and MICE AV teams to ensure world class technical quality, operational safety, and seamless delivery for all concerts, sports events, corporate events, and internal productions.
The Arena Technical Manager works in close collaboration with the Arena Operations Director, Technical Team Leads, and external production partners to uphold INSPIRE’s technical standards and ensure flawless event execution.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations Management
• Oversee all technical departments (Stage, Lighting, Audio, Automation, Video, MICE AV) across show prep, setup, rehearsal, live event, and strike phases.
• Lead technical planning for concerts, sports events, broadcast events, exhibitions, and corporate functions.
• Coordinate with promoters, touring crews, rental vendors, and internal stakeholders to meet technical requirements and production standards.
• Review and approve all technical drawings, stage plots, signal-flow diagrams, rigging plans, and equipment lists.
Technical Quality & Event Execution
• Ensure all technical systems operate safely and at optimal performance during rehearsals and live events.
• Supervise integration between lighting, audio, video, automation, and stage mechanics to achieve coherent and synchronized productions.
• Provide on-site technical leadership during high-risk, large-scale, or VIP events.
• Conduct root-cause analyses for technical incidents and implement preventive measures.
Maintenance & Asset Management
• Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and life cycle management of all technical equipment and infrastructure within the Arena.
• Ensure accurate tracking of inventory, service logs, repair history, and usage reports across all technical departments.
• Review and recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, and capital investment needs.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, rigging standards, and internal SOPs for all technical operations.
• Manage risk assessments, emergency protocols, and safety drills with the technical and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and international production standards.
Team Development & Administration
• Lead and mentor department supervisors, ensuring skill development, training schedules, and performance evaluations are maintained.
• Standardize operating procedures, technical manuals, and show ready documentation.
• Plan staffing schedules based on production requirements, venue occupancy, and operational priorities.
• Collaborate with Arena Operations leadership on budgeting, procurement, vendor management, and long-term technical planning.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theater, Entertainment Technology, Engineering, or related field, with 10+ years of technical production experience in live entertainment, arena operations, broadcast events, or touring productions.
• In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of progressively responsible technical experience within a multipurpose venue may be considered.
• Comprehensive understanding of rigging, stagecraft, lighting systems, audio systems, video systems, and automation technologies.
• Strong experience working with international touring productions and large scale show formats.
• Safety certifications preferred (e.g., ETCP, Stage Art Expert Certificate, Rigging certifications).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong understanding of integrated show control, networked systems, and digital production environments.
• Excellent coordination skills for working with touring productions, contractors, and internal departments.
• Proven ability to manage high-pressure show environments with calm, effective decision-making.
• Skilled in interpreting CAD drawings, schematics, signal-flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities to oversee multiple teams and concurrent events.
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and event-dependent schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in a fast paced, multicultural environment.
Other Requirements:
• Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
